Online Banking Security
YOUR SECURITY IS IMPORTANT TO US!
Your privacy and security are as important to us as they are to you. We are committed to using advanced technology to ensure that your personal information and confidential transactions remain safe, secure, and private. To ensure your privacy and security as our customer, FCB Banks will not discuss Online Access with anyone other than the individual to whom access was granted. If there are multiple users in your household, please make sure each individual applies for their own access to Online Banking.
HOW WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION AND PRIVACY
Individual Access ID/Password
When you sign up for online banking, the information FCB asks you for is encrypted during transmission and remains confidential as long as you do not disclose it to other individuals. We strongly recommend that you do not use your Social Security number as a username or password. For enhanced security, we require that you change your password periodically. Your Access ID must contain at least 6 characters. In addition, we require passwords to be at least 8 characters. We strongly recommend that your Access ID and Password contain both letters and numbers.
Multi-Factor Authentication
In addition to Access ID and Password, FCB has implemented an additional level of security by having consumers choose an authentication image and pass phrase. Consumers will also answer 3 security challenge questions during the initial enrollment process. If the bank doesn’t recognize your computer or you have registered as a public computer, then you will be asked one of the security challenge questions
Firewall
FCB computer systems are protected by a powerful firewall that blocks unauthorized entry 24 hours a day. In order to gain access to authorized information, the Web browser you are using must know the proper protocol, or language, and even then only select information is available.
Encryption
All online access and bill pay sessions are encrypted. FCB employs 128-bit encryption which turns your information into a coded sequence with billions of possible variations. FCB computers possess the proper formulas to turn this code back into meaningful information and complete your transaction.
Look for a “closed lock” icon in the lower right-hand corner (Microsoft Internet Explorer) or lower left-hand corner (Netscape Navigator) of your browser to determine if encryption is being used on any Web page you are viewing. Any Web address beginning with “https://...” indicates the page you are viewing uses encryption. The “s” stands for “secured.”
Ongoing Surveillance
FCB monitors all security systems to make sure that your accounts are safe and secure.
Timed Log-Off
FCB’s system will automatically log you off from Online Banking and Online Bill Pay after 20 minutes of inactivity. This reduces the risk of others accessing your information from your unattended computer. For added security, the date and time of last log in is shown on your screen.
What can I do to protect my account security?
- Never reveal your online banking access code, password, authentication image, or pass phrase to anyone else.
- Change your password frequently.
- Always log off by clicking the “log off” button before visiting other internet sites or walking away from your computer.
